Requirements Experience : 4+ years Strong hands-on experience in RPG development, including RPG III, RPG IV, and RPGLE. Extensive experience developing and maintaining applications on the IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) platform. Strong expertise in IBM DB2 and SQL for application development, data manipulation, and troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with IBM MQ for messaging and application integration. Experience working with IBM i development tools, programming standards, and enterprise application environments. Good understanding of application integration concepts and experience integrating IBM i applications with distributed systems. Experience with ETL processes and data integration is an added advantage. Exposure to Java-based application integration is desirable. Knowledge of XMS (Extended Messaging Service) or similar messaging technologies is an added advantage. Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with technical and business teams. Responsibilities Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications on the IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries) platform using RPG. Develop and maintain RPG III, RPG IV, and RPGLE programs based on business and technical requirements. Analyze existing applications, identify areas for enhancement, and implement robust and scalable solutions. Develop and optimize DB2 database queries, SQL programs, stored procedures, and data access components. Design and implement IBM MQ-based messaging solutions for reliable application-to-application communication. Integrate IBM i applications with external and distributed systems using messaging, APIs, and other integration mechanisms. Support ETL processes and data integration workflows where required. Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes. Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables. Collaborate with application architects, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, application specifications, and support documentation. Participate in production support, incident resolution, application enhancements, and maintenance activities. Ensure adherence to coding standards, development best practices, security guidelines, and SDLC processes. Contribute to application modernization and integration initiatives involving IBM i, Java, IBM MQ, and enterprise technologies. Provide technical guidance and support to team members when required. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
