What you'll be doing

Research, design, and develop computer and network software programs.
Specifically, build a portfolio of tools and platform capabilities that empower our programming operations team.
Build user experiences and tools that define and drive content workflows.
Code, test, document and deliver scalable and reliable platform services and components that create the foundation of the core web application platform with cross-browser compatibility, accessibility and search engine optimization.
Optimize and streamline Roku's web application platform to facilitate a seamless implementation experience for our developers and partners.
Suggest tools, cloud-based technologies/services and best practices to improve the site stability, performance and quality.
Participate in Agile development process, including scoping, technical design, estimation effort, coding, testing, debugging, code reviews, maintenance and support.
Responsible for completion of individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with limited supervision.

You are required to have

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
3 years of experience in the position or a related occupation.

Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in the following:

Algorithms & Data Structures.
Full Stack Web Development using JavaScript frameworks React, NodeJS, TypeScript, and React Native.
Object-oriented design paradigm.
Cloud Computing & Infrastructure technologies AWS Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, Lambda, CloudFront, etc.
HTML, CSS, and Java.
Database/Storage Systems DynamoDB, S3, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
Software Engineering practices.

Up to one day per week telecommuting may be permitted.

For California Only - The annual salary for this position is $255,000 - $527,000.

Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.
