Senior QA Engineer (Manual + Automation)

Role Summary

We are looking for aSenior QA Engineerwith strong hands-on experience across bothManual and Automated Testingto help ensure the quality and reliability of web and SaaS products.

You will be involved throughout the SDLC, covering test planning, functional and regression testing, API validation, automation, accessibility, cross-browser/device testing, and defect management.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and confident communicating QA findings and testing approaches with developers, stakeholders, and other QA team members.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning & Manual Testing

• Review requirements, user stories, and designs to understand testing requirements.
• Create test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform functional, exploratory, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum sprints and QA planning.
• Clearly communicate testing findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

API & Data Testing

• Test REST APIs and webhooks using tools such as Postman or Insomnia.
• Test complex workflows including authentication, checkout, search, dashboards, and CMS functionality.
• Validate data, content updates, and database changes.
• Test edge cases, error handling, and integration scenarios.
• Conduct regression testing before releases.

Automation Testing

• Create, maintain, and execute automated UI and API tests.
• Build reusable automated regression tests for critical workflows.
• Apply automation where it provides meaningful testing value.
• Work with developers to support testing within CI/CD workflows.
• Use automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Jest, or Vitest.

Cross-Platform & Accessibility Testing

• Test responsive web applications across Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.
• Test across desktop, tablet, iOS, and Android devices.
• Perform accessibility checks including keyboard navigation, screen readers, and colour contrast.
• Identify UI, UX, performance, and visual issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional QA experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in Manual Testing and test case management.
• Solid understanding of Automated Testing and automation frameworks.
• Strong experience in functional, regression, exploratory, integration, and API testing.
• Practical experience withPostman, Insomnia, or similar API testing tools.
• Experience withPlaywright, Cypress, Selenium, Jest, or Vitest.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams and tools such as Jira, Trello, or GitHub.
• Good understanding of web applications, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript behaviour.
• Experience testing across browsers and multiple devices.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to clearly explain testing decisions, findings, and technical issues.

Nice to Have

• Experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, or Headless CMS.
• Knowledge of WCAG and accessibility testing.
• Basic SQL/database knowledge.
• Experience with CI/CD and GitHub Actions.
• Experience working with e-commerce or SaaS products.
• Experience mentoring or supporting other QA team members.

• Critical and high-priority bugs are identified before reaching production.
• Testing is completed within agreed sprint and release timelines.
• Test documentation remains clear, accurate, and reliable.
• Automated test coverage is improved for critical workflows where appropriate.
• Production issues are reduced through effective manual and automated regression testing.
• Bugs are reported clearly with accurate steps to reproduce and supporting information.
• QA findings and risks are communicated clearly to the wider team.
