Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Java development and enterprise application architecture, with a proven track record of delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

Location

Zact is a global company with multiple locations across US, Europe and India.

We provide 100% Remote Working Option.

Candidates applying for this role should be located in one of the European or Indian Time zones.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications using Spring Framework and related technologies
• Architect and implement RESTful APIs following industry best practices and security standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical decision-making
• Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality standards are maintained
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of Java and microservices development experience
• Strong expertise in Spring Framework ecosystem
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices
• Experience implementing various authentication and authorization models (OAuth 2.0, JWT, RBAC)
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ESB implementations, particularly Apache Camel
• Experience with ETL frameworks and data integration patterns
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
