Senior Product Manager, Intelligent Platforms

About the role: What's in the Box

The Foundations Alliance's mission is to accelerate the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and highly available digital products at HelloFresh by providing services and platforms that improve internal builder productivity and system reliability. This position is for a Senior Product Manager to drive the vision, strategy, and execution for the Operational Data Platform—the systems that create, transport, and store data at the point of origin, making it available for downstream analytics or AI. The role holds accountability for a high-leverage layer of the data ecosystem: the streaming and database infrastructure that product engineering teams rely on to get data flowing reliably.
The core objective is to ensure operational data is created, delivered, and shared downstream reliably, cost-efficiently, and with explicit quality guarantees. The service provider will define the roadmap for the squad's platform (event streaming, relational, and NoSQL databases), partner closely with the Engineering Lead for the Operational Data Platform, and collaborate cross-functionally with data producer and analytical teams. This engagement comes at a key moment for critical-path cost-efficiency and reliability initiatives. This role does not include people management responsibilities.

What you’ll do: The Recipe

• Drive the product vision and roadmap for the Operational Data Platform—focusing on low-latency data creation, transport, storage, and availability for downstream analytics—partnering closely with the Engineering Lead for the platform.
• Lead the squad's cost-efficiency roadmap, taking accountability for targeted cost savings as a core KPI.
• Maintain the reliability of critical-path systems (streaming and core databases), setting uptime targets and feeding incident learnings back into platform planning.
• Champion data-contract and schema standards at the point of data creation, collaborating with data-producing engineering teams to close adoption gaps and ensure quality data flows downstream.
• Guide platform tooling decisions, consolidating technologies around optimal solutions rather than accumulating redundant options.
• Define and maintain the handover contract with the Analytical Data Platform, ensuring downstream data is consistently trustworthy and ready for governance.
• Act as the primary interface between the Operational Data Platform and data producers, translating business and technical needs into actionable roadmap priorities.
• Define, track, and report squad KPIs (cost efficiency, critical-path reliability, data-quality adoption) against quarterly alliance goals.

What you’ll bring: The Ingredients 

• Proven experience as a Product Manager with a solid grounding in data infrastructure, data engineering, or backend platforms—comfortable with streaming, messaging, and database architecture.
• Working familiarity with event streaming and relational/NoSQL database technologies to partner credibly with engineering leads on technical trade-offs.
• Track record of driving roadmaps and KPIs for technical teams in platform problem spaces, managing metrics like cost, reliability, or data quality to target.
• Data-driven approach to prioritization and roadmap decisions, supported by analytical tools and frameworks.
• Strong collaboration and communication capabilities to establish trust and technical alignment with engineering leads and key stakeholders.
• Pragmatic, execution-oriented mindset to drive day-to-day delivery autonomously and navigate cost, reliability, and technical debt trade-offs in live production environments.
