Senior Python Backend Engineer

What You’ll Be Doing Here - You’ll join a Zup development team to help build products and improve Itaú Bank’s data platform. - You’ll lead the adoption of modern development practices, leveraging AI extensively in your daily workflow to accelerate delivery and ensure the quality of the software produced. What we expect you to know - Solid experience with Python backend programming and good knowledge of Java programming. - Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design. - Databases and operating systems. - Experience with API and microservice development. - Knowledge of event-driven cloud systems architecture. - Knowledge of software testing: testing concepts, TDD, and testing of microservice-based distributed systems. - Familiarity with agile development methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and AWS services (ECS, Lambda, StepFunction, CloudWatch, S3, SNS, RDS). - Experience with software development processes supported by SCM tools (Git), CI/CD, and DevOps. - Experience with infrastructure-as-code provisioning (Terraform). - Proficiency with the Code Agents-assisted development cycle, including the ability to interact with, guide, and audit autonomous coding agents. - Ability to design agents, create tools, and develop modular capabilities for secure operation within the codebase. - Hands-on experience with SDD (Spec-Driven Development), using rigorous specifications as an engine for automated code generation. - Proficiency in Intent Development concepts, focusing on translating business intentions and architectural rules into precise instructions for AI, minimizing manual code generation. - Experience with Harness Engineering, designing isolated test environments (scaffolds/simulators) for autonomous code validation. It would be great if you had - Knowledge of NoSQL (preferably DynamoDB) is desirable; - Experience with analytical data management and processing platforms (Hadoop and SAS); - Experience with Kafka; - Previous experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift); - Knowledge of SRE; - Knowledge of generative AI and multi-agent architecture; - Knowledge of observability, logging, and AWS service monitoring.
