Senior Full-Stack Engineer - Product Team (Next.js & Python)

Location: Remote (South Africa)

Salary: R70,000 - R90,000 per month

The work and team

You will join a dedicated Product Team building and scaling practical, AI-driven higher education web applications. You will own features from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

The daily stack

• Frontend: Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS.
• Backend: Python (Flask), GraphQL, MongoDB.
• AI & Cloud: OpenAI APIs, Agents SDK, AWS Amplify, Sentry, OpenTelemetry, and LTI standards.

What we are looking for

We need genuine technical depth across the full stack. Candidates who struggle with backend fundamentals or security will not pass the technical evaluation.

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of production experience with Python web frameworks (Flask, Django, or FastAPI). You must understand core backend security (input sanitization, preventing SQL injection) and system design concepts (concurrency, database locks).
• 2+ years with Next.js and TypeScript, with solid habits around React state management and rendering efficiency.
• Active experience using AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or GitHub Copilot to accelerate coding and testing.
• Legal authorization to live and work in South Africa throughout employment.

Nice to have

• Experience building LLM-powered features or using agent SDKs.
• Exposure to AI tracing tools like Langfuse or AWS Amplify.
